Haven Treatment Center Expresses Disappointment Over Continued Licensing Delays, Reaffirms Commitment to Opening
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Washingtoner -- Haven Treatment Center announced today that the anticipated operational license from the State of Washington has been temporarily delayed. The facility is working closely with state officials to address all outstanding items, a process the organization expects to be resolved quickly.
The delay is a result of broader state licensing challenges that are impacting social workers, counselors, and other mental health professionals, pulling them out of the workforce. This situation is unfortunately forcing foster youth to be placed out of state, particularly in Idaho, leading to the creation of waitlists that are quickly overfilling. The facility remains committed to providing exceptional care and maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance during this period.

Haven Treatment Center is fully cooperating with the State of Washington and the Department of Health. Although the center submitted its application and fees in February 2025, Haven is still experiencing significant delays as of December 2025. With the delays from the State, Haven presumes Washington is not focused on the children who do not have permanent housing or a stable place to call home. Haven Treatment Center is confident that they will receive full licensure soon and begin serving the community as intended.
