TACOMA, Wash., Nov. 26, 2024 ~ Puyallup, Wash. - In a historic move, 56 technicians, drivers, mechanics, clerical workers, and support staffers from Drain-Pro have voted to join Teamsters Local 313 and have successfully ratified their first contract.
According to Matt Richardson, a Drain-Pro worker, the decision to unionize was driven by the desire to reap the benefits that other workers have received through Teamsters representation. "We are already seeing the rewards of being part of this incredible union," Richardson stated.
The three-year contract secured by these Teamsters includes significant benefits such as guaranteed annual raises, improved health care coverage, and participation in the Teamsters pension plan. Nick Lansdale, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 313 expressed his excitement for the workers' success in securing such a lucrative contract. "These workers are the backbone of Drain-Pro and we are thrilled to have helped them achieve this milestone," Lansdale said.
