~ In response to recent racist propaganda found in Downtown Spokane, Council Member Lili Navarrete of District 2 has issued a statement condemning the actions of a local hate group. The posters, which have been spreading hateful sentiments throughout the community, have been met with strong opposition from Navarrete.
In her statement, Navarrete expressed her disappointment and frustration with the presence of such hate-themed flyers in Spokane. She made it clear that this type of rhetoric and propaganda will not be tolerated in their city. As a member of the community herself, she sees these actions as a personal attack on not only herself but also her family and fellow residents.

Navarrete also took this opportunity to remind the public about the cultural events hosted at City Hall and reassured them that these racist sentiments do not reflect the views of their city officials. She extended an invitation to all members of the community to come together at City Hall and show that in Spokane, everyone belongs.
The City Council Communications Director, Lisa Gardner, also weighed in on the issue stating that they stand behind Council Member Navarrete's statement and are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity within their city. The council urges residents to speak out against discrimination and not stay silent as it only perpetuates the problem.
This incident serves as a reminder that there is still much work to be done in the fight against discrimination. However, with strong leaders like Council Member Navarrete and a supportive community, Spokane is taking steps towards creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
