Focused on Supporting Creators, Maximizing their Potential Through Partnerships

SEATTLE - Washingtoner -- The Zaaz Collective, a new company that seeks to serve Creators by helping them connect, grow, and understand their audiences, today announced Jay Sampson as its new Chief Growth Officer. Sampson will oversee operations in multiple business areas, including subscription growth, partnerships with key social platforms, and driving deeper connections with agents and marketers, all in service of helping Creators maximize their potential and turn their individual creativity into Collective power.

Zaaz was founded on a key insight: while the creator economy is vast, having grown sevenfold since 2020, for many Creators it remains fragmented, with tools often disconnected across key platforms and in need of a more collective community.  Zaaz's unique approach focuses on building a platform that is creator-centric, not platform-specific.

The Zaaz Collective platform is powered by a Creator Intelligence engine that gets smarter with the more Creators it serves. The Zaaz Collective platform analyzes the contents, the audiences, and the comments on behalf of Creators worldwide and returns value to the community.

"I've seen at best inconsistent support Creators over the last decade. While the number of full-time creators has grown sevenfold since 2020, over half of them still earn less than the U.S. living wage. For me, Zaaz is a re-invention. I'm returning to this space with a sense of urgency and belief that the Zaaz Collective can help unlock creative entrepreneurship."

Jay joins the Zaaz Collective with a decade of experience across tech, media, and academia. He previously helped scale Machinima, an early and influential YouTube MCN that played a key role in shaping the creator economy. His experience also includes leading global sales organizations at Microsoft as well as the global Partner strategy at Adobe.  Jay will continue to serve as both a Senior Lecturer and Advisor to his alma mater, the University of Arizona, and considers this ongoing engagement with students and academics vital for gaining the new ideas and energy essential to his work.

According to CEO Shane Atchinson, "We're at a pivotal moment for the creator economy. The tools and opportunities are expanding, but creators still need a more connected ecosystem — one that helps them grow, collaborate, and truly earn from their craft. That's why bringing Jay on board right now is so important. He's spent his career bridging creativity and technology — from Machinima to Adobe — and he deeply understands how to scale communities with purpose. I've known Jay for years, and I can't imagine a better leader to help drive Zaaz's mission to transform individual creativity into collective power."
