Public Hearing August 31, 2021 For Proposed Annexation of Manitou Potential Annexation Area
The Tacoma City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 31 at 5:15 p.m. to hear public comment on the draft Interlocal Agreement (ILA) and draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Tacoma and Pierce County concerning the proposed annexation of the Manitou Potential Annexation Area.
The 37-acre Manitou area is designated in both the City's and the County's comprehensive plans as a Potential Annexation Area. Its annexation to the City is expected and required by the State Growth Management Act, to ensure the most efficient and effective provision of municipal services to support and accommodate the area's dense urban development.
