~ The Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission is currently accepting nominations for the 2026 Historic Preservation Awards, as announced in a recent press release. These awards aim to recognize and celebrate exceptional preservation projects and programming.
The Outstanding Achievement award categories include Broadening Perspectives, Career Achievement, Community Engagement, Heritage/Legacy Business, Housing, Innovation in Preservation and Outreach, Landmark Nomination, Leadership in Preservation, Partnerships in Preservation, Preservation as Neighborhood Revitalization, Renovation - Commercial Property, Renovation - Residential Property, and Sustainability.

Nominations for these awards can be submitted through the designated link until March 17. The awards ceremony and reception will take place on May 21 in person. More information about the event can be found on the commission's website.
