~ Tacoma, WA- The second annual Hams for the Holidays event is set to take place at the Tacoma Dome on Friday, December 19th. Commencement Bank, Tacoma Venues & Events, and Nourish Pierce County have joined forces with local sponsors and volunteers to provide ham and limited alternatives to families in need this holiday season.
The idea for the event was sparked by the growing need for food assistance in Pierce County. Inspired by the success of a drive-thru turkey distribution event before Thanksgiving, spearheaded by the Tacoma Police Department, the organizers saw an opportunity to make a difference in their community once again.
John E. Manolides, Chief Executive Officer of Commencement Bank expressed his gratitude for being able to support their community during these challenging times. He stated, "As we enter our second year of 'Hams for the Holidays,' we are so grateful to work with our amazing clients and local businesses to support our community - especially during a time when the cost of food is rising and the need for assistance is greater than ever."
