The Public Decency & Nudity Clarification Bill petition, initiated by NaturismRE (Naturism Resurgence), has officially surpassed 5,000 verified signatures, marking a significant moment for naturist rights and public understanding in Australia.

SYDNEY - Washingtoner -- This milestone highlights growing public support for legislative reform to clearly distinguish naturism from indecency, ensuring fairness, legal clarity, and equal treatment for naturists across the nation.

"This achievement demonstrates that Australians are ready for truth and fairness," said Vincent Marty, Founder of NaturismRE. "It's time to recognise that simple, non-sexual nudity in nature is not a crime, it's an expression of freedom, respect, and environmental connection.

NaturismRE gratefully acknowledges the ongoing support of Get Naked Australia (GNA) and The Australian Naturist Federation (ANF) for this petition and for their continued efforts to normalise naturism in Australia.
Their endorsement reinforces the growing unity within the naturist community and the shared vision for a more inclusive and transparent future. Together, these organisations represent the evolving face of naturism, ethical, open, and socially responsible.

Growing Momentum: Since its launch, the petition has reached:
  • 5,007 supporters
  • 141,947 petition views
  • 307 active promoters
With only 4,993 more supporters needed to reach the next goal of 10,000, the campaign continues to gain strength nationwide.

NaturismRE plans to present the Bill to the Attorney-General's Department and Members of Parliament in 2026, accompanied by a detailed report on public sentiment and legal inconsistencies under current laws.

"We're not asking for special treatment — only fairness and recognition," Marty added. "Naturism was never a fringe idea — it was only disguised as one by outdated moral narratives. The growing support from the public, from GNA, and from ANF proves that people are ready to see naturism for what it truly is: a movement grounded in equality, ecology, and human dignity.

Beyond philosophy, naturism is also a lifestyle scientifically recognised to have positive effects on both physical and mental health — reducing stress, encouraging body acceptance, promoting outdoor activity, and addressing modern issues such as obesity and vitamin D deficiency. Its environmental benefits are equally undeniable; by reducing dependence on clothing production, energy use, and synthetic materials, naturism significantly lowers our collective CO₂ footprint.
