~ In the early hours of May 31, 2025, Spokane Police responded to a shooting call in the northeast area of Liberty Ave. and Market St. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a vehicle had been damaged but fortunately, no one was injured.

After conducting a thorough investigation, officers were able to connect this incident to a similar one that occurred the day before. The suspect from the previous incident, identified as 32-year-old Zachary Gring, had fled from police and was wanted for eluding. Today, Gring allegedly shot at a house and car belonging to someone he had a relationship with.

Surveillance footage and other information about the incident were shared with patrol units in an effort to locate the suspects. Several hours later, around 11:30am, an officer spotted the suspect vehicle and initiated a stop. Both a male and female suspect fled on foot from the car.

The female suspect, identified as 26-year-old Allie Alderson, was apprehended nearby and found to have an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant for rioting as well as a warrant for driving without a valid operator's license in the first degree. She was also charged with two counts of drive-by shooting in connection with today's incident.

Shortly after Alderson's arrest, police received a tip from a vigilant citizen who believed they saw the second suspect hiding nearby. Gring was taken into custody without incident and booked into Spokane County Jail on multiple charges including unlawful possession of firearms in the first degree, possession of a stolen firearm, and two counts of domestic violence drive-by shooting related to today's incident. He also faces charges for attempting to elude police during yesterday's incident.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional misdemeanor charges are being referred to the prosecutor's office. Sgt. Teresa Fuller of the Traffic Unit - PIO commended officers for their diligent work in apprehending both suspects and recovering two firearms, one of which was reported stolen. She also urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
