~ The Spokane Police Department (SPD) is seeking the public's assistance in locating 33-year-old Ryan B. Shaules, who is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on 05-27-2023 in the 900 block of E North Foothills Dr.
At approximately 1PM, multiple callers reported the incident and an adult male victim was located suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
SPD officers and detectives began investigating the incident and developed the identity of a suspect. With the assistance of specialty resources including negotiators, SPD's SWAT team, and SCSO's SWAT team, search warrants were executed at various locations throughout Spokane County seeking Shaules as well as evidence of the crime.
Shaules is described as 5'7, approximately 164lbs, with brown hair (picture attached). There is probable cause to arrest Shaules for assault 1st degree and additional charges are likely. He should be considered armed and dangerous; if you know his current whereabouts you are asked to call 911 immediately. Shaules is a convicted felon for assault and therefore is prohibited from legally possessing a firearm. On 03-07-23 he was arrested following a SWAT standoff in the 800 block of N Summit after allegedly threatening an acquaintance and threatening to shoot a law enforcement officer. Two guns were found after the standoff resulting in charges of malicious mischief, felony harassment, and unlawful possession of a firearm being filed against him. On 05-01-23 officers responded to sounds of gunshots in the 1100 block of W 11th Ave where Shaules was located running from the scene; he was found to be in possession of two handguns as well as suspected illicit drugs at that time. These cases are pending.
