~ Spokane, WA- As the nation prepares to celebrate Presidents' Day on Monday, Feb. 17, the city of Spokane has announced that on-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment on this holiday. This news was confirmed by Erin Hut, the Communications Director for the city, who can be reached at 509.625.6740.
While parking will be free on this day, it is important to note that all parking rules, including time limits, will still be enforced. This reminder comes as a precaution to avoid any confusion or violations.
In addition to parking changes, the city has also announced that garbage and recycling pickup will continue as scheduled. The Waste to Energy Facility will also be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., allowing residents to dispose of their trash, recycling, yard waste, and hazardous household chemicals. The public is also invited to take a tour of the facility by registering in advance.

Community members who wish to provide testimony on an item on the Council's agenda can sign up online.
For those looking for some holiday fun in Spokane, both the Numerica Skate Ribbon and Looff Carrousel in Riverfront Park will be open on Presidents' Day. More information can be found on the City's website.
However, please note that all branches of Spokane Public Library will be closed on Presidents' Day. Additionally, Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services will only be available by phone on this day.
