The SPD's Major Crimes Unit (MCU) took over the investigation upon their arrival. Through their initial inquiries, they were able to identify a suspect but were unable to locate them on May 6th despite their efforts. However, investigators determined that this was an isolated incident and there was no immediate danger to the public.
Over the next few days, authorities continued their search for the suspect involved in the shooting. On May 8th, thanks to the efforts of SPD's Special Investigations Unit, they were located at an apartment in Airway Heights. A search warrant was obtained and specialty units such as SWAT, ASU, and HNT were called in to assist.
The suspect has been identified as Tabarius Johnson Jr., an 18-year-old individual who has since been arrested for Assault in the First Degree. He has been booked into Spokane County Jail pending further investigation into his involvement in this incident.
