~ On the night of November 21, 2023, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) responded to a fire in the 4000 block of West Queen Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters observed a fire in one of the home's bedrooms on the first floor. A total of 27 firefighters were dispatched to the scene and quickly implemented a coordinated attack to tackle the blaze.
The search confirmed that no occupants were in the house at the time of the fire, and the first engine rapidly controlled it. The SFD crews accessed the attic space to extinguish a limited amount of fire that had spread there. The prompt and efficient response of the firefighters ensured that the fire was confined and extinguished without spreading further, preventing more extensive damage to the property. No injuries were reported among occupants or firefighters.
