~ On the evening of May 15th, 2025, a single vehicle collision occurred at 808 W Main in Riverpark Square. The Spokane Police Department (SPD) responded to the scene at 8:55pm after receiving reports of a red Ford Mustang crashing into the building.
According to witnesses, the vehicle was traveling east on Main from Lincoln at a high speed before it struck a parked car and lost control. The Mustang then veered onto the sidewalk and collided with the building, causing significant damage.
Upon arrival, officers evaluated the driver and found no signs of impairment. However, further information revealed that the driver, identified as 20-year-old Omar M. Khairi, had swerved to avoid a person on a scooter before crashing into the building.

Photos taken at the scene show the extent of damage caused by the collision. The first photo shows the red Mustang lodged in between shattered glass doors, while the second photo captures debris scattered across the sidewalk. The third photo shows Khairi's vehicle after it collided with a parked car, and the fourth photo displays damage to both vehicles involved in the incident.
The SPD is reminding drivers to always exercise caution and follow traffic laws to prevent accidents like this from occurring in the future.
