~ The City of Spokane has announced the launch of a new grant program to assist small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Assistance to Small Businesses Grant, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, will open for applications on Wednesday, May 24.
The grant is available to small businesses that have experienced a decline in gross revenue or increased expenses due to the pandemic. Grants of up to $45,000 will be awarded, while businesses that began operations in 2020 or 2021 are eligible for grants of up to $15,000.

Organizations approved for funding in the first round are not eligible for this round. The application deadline is Thursday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m., or until funding is exhausted. Technical assistance will be available at an optional workshop on Wednesday, May 24 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., both virtually and in-person at the Central Library Event Room B.
