SEATTLE, July 7, 2025 ~ PCL Construction Enterprises, Inc. has announced the appointment of Tyler Kautz as vice president of data centers, solidifying the company's position as a leader in mission critical construction. With the global demand for digital infrastructure on the rise, the data center construction market is projected to grow from $287 billion in 2025 to $1.3 trillion by 2035.
Kautz brings nearly 20 years of experience with PCL to his new role, having previously served as vice president and district manager in Seattle. During his time there, he played a crucial role in expanding PCL's presence across the Northwest and building relationships with major technology clients. He also led the original business case study that inspired the launch of PCL's dedicated data center division.
Cathy Orquiola, president of western U.S. for PCL Construction, expressed confidence in Kautz's leadership abilities and stated that he represents the future of PCL with his expertise, client relationships, and collaborative leadership style.

Kautz holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Washington and is a LEED Accredited Professional, showcasing his knowledge and commitment to sustainable construction practices.
In his new role, Kautz will lead PCL's Mission Critical Center of Excellence team, which has successfully delivered over 120 data center and mission critical projects. These projects include complex retrofits, large-scale new builds (including Tier IV fault-tolerant projects), and critical environment upgrades.
"I'm honored to lead PCL's data center efforts at such a pivotal moment," said Kautz. "We've built a strong foundation with our mission critical team, and I'm looking forward to driving continued innovation for clients navigating the next wave of digital infrastructure demands."
Kautz will continue to support the Northwest community while leading PCL's national data center strategy from Seattle. As he takes on this new role, Andrew Fernandez has been promoted to district manager of PCL's Seattle office. Fernandez will be responsible for leading projects that are transforming the Northwest's skyline and infrastructure.
With Kautz at the helm, PCL is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure and solidify its position as the builder of choice in high-tech, fast-growing markets.
