~ Spokane, WA - The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is currently investigating a series of intentionally set fires that occurred early this morning. According to Sgt. Teresa Fuller, the Public Information Officer for the Spokane Police Department, officers are following up on all leads and are asking for the public's help in identifying any suspects.
The first fire was reported at approximately 4:15am at My Fresh Basket in the 1000 block of West Summit Parkway. Shortly after, crews were called to a damaged electrical vehicle charging station on the Spokane Washington State University campus near Spokane Falls Boulevard and Pine Street. At 4:47am, another fire was reported in the area when foliage on a median was found to be vandalized.
An hour later, at 5:12am, crews responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of East 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, it was discovered that three separate structures had been deliberately set ablaze in that area.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported in any of these incidents. However, with hot, dry, and windy weather forecasted for the coming days, these fires are causing great concern for both law enforcement and fire officials.
Investigators from both the Spokane Police MCU and Spokane Fire Department have responded to each scene to gather evidence. They are actively searching for more evidence and looking into whether there may be other related fires.
In an effort to aid their investigation, police are asking anyone with relevant surveillance footage to come forward and contact Crime Check at 509-456-2233. Officers will then determine if the footage is needed as evidence.
Two photos related to the arson have been released by authorities - one showing damage caused by one of the fires and another showing a possible suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Check immediately.
As this investigation continues, authorities are reminding residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity they may witness. The safety of the community is their top priority and they are determined to bring those responsible for these fires to justice.
