Filipino superstar artists Sheki & Baby Blue descend stateside

LOS ANGELES - Washingtoner -- AKB48 Group talent makes its debut in the U.S with Filipino superstars SHEKI & BABY BLUE , two of the most popular talents coming from the Filipino girl group MNL48.
SHEKI (Shekinah Azarga) is the first solo debut from AKB48, the highest selling pop group in Japan and the fifth bestselling girl group worldwide. She is the No. 1 vocalist of the AKB48 groups. The two acts are managed by Shohei Watanabe and Japan's Superball and is signed at TKO for U.S representation.

Singer-Songwriter SHEKI has been playing a major role as a lead vocalist in MNL48Manila, Philippines) which since 2018 has been a very popular sister affiliate of AKB48, the all-female, theatre-based "idol" collective from Japan. Named after the Akihabara area in Tokyo, where the group's theater is located AKB48 is certified as the largest pop group in the world by The Guinness World Records.

All the fans know and have been talking about SHEKI  as the most skilled and talented member of all the AKB48 groups, which are divided into teams and spread across 12 locations in Asia with Sheki being from the Manila, Philippines based MNL48. Since the winter of 2021, she has been building her own career, receiving praise by critics and the entire music industry. Her recent collaborations with 48 other groups across 8 regions gained immense attention, not only from Asia, but from around the world. Now with the strong support of her followers, Sheki has assembled 5 top songwriters from the US, Korea and Japan to launch her own solo career.

Having learned the joy of singing at age 6, SHEKI has been a popular 1st generation member of MNL48, and has consistently been selected for the KAMI7. BABY BLUE is a sub-unit of the Filipino idol group MNL48 consisting of three members: Coleen, Amy, and Frances.
They debuted in September 2020 with their lead single "Sweet Talking Sugar," which reached the top spot in Tower Records Japan 'Eggs Music' chart. The group's music style incorporates RnB, City Pop, and Street Vibe with English lyrics. In February 2022, BABY BLUE released their fourth single "Head Up" along with their first album in both the Philippines and Japan. They have released the following singles " Sweet Talking Sugar" ( 2020) , " Negaster" (2020), "Stuck on You" ( 2021), "Head Up" 4th Sinle and first full –length album in 2022.

Shohei "Shaw" Watanabe    Music Producer / Supervisor / A&R
A Japanese producer of Superball Co., Ltd. (AKB48 groups), and an A&R and music supervisor of Dream Kid Inc and Atlantis 369 Music Publishing who works actively in Tokyo and LA. He started his career as a road manager for the Grammy Award winning singer "L.V." who is widely known for the world-famous Hiphop classic, "Gangsta`s Paradise". He has also worked with a variety of music publishers, record companies and songwriters. He has contributed to exclusive songs and compilation albums with various artists they have sold worldwide and is currently serving as a music supervisor of various movie / anime contents.
