~ The City of Spokane has issued a warning to the public regarding a new email scam that has been circulating. According to Communications Director Erin Hut, individuals are posing as the City's Planning Director and Development Services Center in order to deceive people into making wire transfer payments.
Hut emphasized that the City of Spokane will never send unsolicited emails asking for wire transfer payments. Instead, customers should be aware of the appropriate methods for making payments to the Development Services Center (DSC). These include using a secure payment link embedded within an official DSC email that directs customers to the Accela Citizen Access (ACA) Portal, mailing or delivering payments by check, or paying in person at the DSC front counter with credit card, cash, or check.
