A Time-Travel Adventure Through Seattle's Historic 1909 Exposition

SEATTLE - Washingtoner -- Author Robert A. Robinson introduces his historical fiction novel, Anarchy at the AYP: The Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition of 1909, an engaging journey that transports readers more than a century into Seattle's past. Combining historical detail with suspense and speculative fiction, the book brings the celebrated 1909 exposition to life while exploring the contrast between modern technology and the simplicity of an earlier era.

The story follows Rob McKenna, a modern-day Seattle reporter who discovers an extraordinary secret through his unlikely friends, Joey and Zelia. Guided through a hidden passage beneath the city, Rob unexpectedly finds himself in 1909, just as Seattle prepares to host the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. Seizing the opportunity to report on a remarkable historical event, he assumes the identity of a journalist from that period. However, what begins as the story of a lifetime soon develops into a dangerous mystery involving a brutal murder, mysterious figures dressed in black, and disturbing evidence suggesting that Rob may not be the only traveler from the future.

Through richly detailed historical settings and a suspenseful narrative, Anarchy at the AYP immerses readers in the everyday experiences, social customs, and extraordinary atmosphere of early twentieth-century Seattle. As Rob navigates an unfamiliar world while investigating the threat of anarchists, he encounters the challenges of living without modern conveniences and discovers the value of personal relationships in a society untouched by today's digital technology.

"I wanted people to see both how much our lives have changed in a hundred years and how truly fascinating the AYP Exposition of 1909 was," says Robinson.

Written for readers who enjoy historical mysteries, time-travel adventures, alternate history, speculative fiction, and Pacific Northwest history, the novel offers a distinctive perspective on the relationship between past and present. It explores how technological advancements have transformed daily life while raising questions about the human connections that may have been lost along the way.

The book is available in eBook and paperback formats through Amazon.
