Wizards, dragons, evolution, aviation, and duck-naping board games score highest marks

HURST, Texas - Washingtoner -- After nearly four days of nonstop gameplay at Mensa's 2024 Mind Games® competition, American Mensa and Mensa members have recognized five tabletop games with the coveted Mensa Select award. The 2024 winners of the Mensa Select seal of approval are:

  • First in Flight: A Historical Aviation Board Game, by Genius Games LLC
  • In the Footsteps of Darwin, by Hachette Boardgames
  • The Vale of Eternity, by Renegade Game Studios

Four hundred Mind Games participants from across the country judged the games during a four-day board-game marathon in Charlotte, N.C., awarding the official Mensa Select distinction to games based on how each game scored on concept, level of challenge, and design.
