Wizards, dragons, evolution, aviation, and duck-naping board games score highest marks

HURST, Texas - Washingtoner -- After nearly four days of nonstop gameplay at Mensa's 2024 Mind Games® competition, American Mensa and Mensa members have recognized five tabletop games with the coveted Mensa Select award. The 2024 winners of the Mensa Select seal of approval are:
  • Abducktion, by Very Special Games
  • First in Flight: A Historical Aviation Board Game, by Genius Games LLC
  • In the Footsteps of Darwin, by Hachette Boardgames
  • The Vale of Eternity, by Renegade Game Studios
  • Wandering Towers, by Capstone Games
Four hundred Mind Games participants from across the country judged the games during a four-day board-game marathon in Charlotte, N.C., awarding the official Mensa Select distinction to games based on how each game scored on concept, level of challenge, and design.

The competition, founded in 1990, offers games manufacturers the chance to have their games reviewed by some of the nation's most avid game-players — members of American Mensa.
