~ Spokane, WA- Visit Spokane and the City of Spokane have joined forces in an effort to attract more film, television, commercial production, and other creative-industry opportunities to the region. This partnership aims to not only strengthen the local economy but also showcase Spokane as a desirable destination for production and events.
Leading this initiative is Luis Mota, who has been appointed as the Director of Film & Event Development by Visit Spokane. With over 20 years of experience in touring, venue management, and entertainment industries, Mota brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He will be responsible for identifying and recruiting film and television productions as well as major events. Additionally, he will build relationships with industry decision-makers and promote Spokane's locations and workforce.

Mota will work closely with the City of Spokane's Community and Economic Development Division to coordinate with producers and navigate city processes. This collaboration between Visit Spokane's tourism relationships and the City's economic development expertise will provide a seamless experience for production companies interested in bringing their projects to Spokane.
The ultimate goal of this partnership is to position Spokane as a competitive location for productions and events that bring outside dollars into the local economy. These projects are expected to create jobs, support local businesses, and generate business for hotels, restaurants, venues, retailers, and other establishments.
Mayor Lisa Brown expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration stating that she has always been an advocate for film incentives due to their positive impact on communities. "Film and television not only create jobs but also bring outside investment into our economy," she said. "I am grateful for this partnership with Visit Spokane to further grow our creative economy."
With the joint efforts of Visit Spokane and the City of Spokane, the region is poised to attract more film and event opportunities, showcasing its potential as a thriving hub for the creative industry.
