TACOMA, Wash. -- At the urging of the Ellis Family and the Tacoma community, the City Council and I have repeatedly called for a thorough and independent state investigation into the death of Manuel Ellis. We appreciate the efforts the Attorney General's Office has taken toward this end as well as their transparency on the timelines in this case. And, as a community, we all continue to grieve as we await resolution and a final decision in this case.
