~ Tacoma, Washington - The City of Tacoma is inviting community members to participate in the next phase of planning for the future use of the Cushman and Adams substations. On October 21 and 26, workshops will be held to present potential development and property use scenarios for these sites.
These scenarios have been developed based on community ideas and feedback from previous visioning workshops, as well as over 600 responses to the Visioning Survey. They also align with Citywide goals and policies.
The first workshop will take place on October 21 at the University of Washington Tacoma in Milgard 110, located at 1900 Commerce Street. Two identical sessions will be available from 4:30-6 PM and 6:30-8 PM. The second workshop will be held on October 26 at the Tacoma Public Library Wheelock Branch, located at 3722 N. 26th Street. Again, two identical sessions will be available from 1:30-3 PM and 3:30-5 PM.

For those unable to attend in person, an online open house will also be available starting on October 21. Community members can share their feedback through an online survey for the various scenarios presented.
The input gathered from these workshops and the online open house will help inform the decision-making process for the City Council and Public Utilities Board regarding next steps for these sites.
More information about this project, including background, next steps, and timeline, can be found at cityoftacoma.org/cushman.
