~ Spokane, WA- On the evening of July 30th, 2024, a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle occurred at the intersection of Euclid and Division. The Spokane Police Department responded to the scene at 7:24pm after receiving a report of the incident.
Upon arrival, officers found the driver of the motorcycle lying on the ground. The motorcycle was located almost two blocks away from where it had collided with the other vehicle. The driver was immediately transported to a local hospital with significant injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, traffic investigators from SPD's Major Crimes Unit were called in to investigate. As per witnesses' accounts, prior to the collision, a group of motorcyclists were seen driving at high speeds and weaving in and out of traffic.

After conducting their investigation, it was determined that the motorcycle involved in the crash was traveling at more than twice the posted speed limit at the time of impact. It is believed that due to this excessive speed, the driver lost control and crashed into another vehicle from behind.
In light of this incident, SPD would like to remind everyone about the dangers associated with reckless driving on roadways, especially during summer months when such activities tend to increase. The 20-year-old motorcycle driver not only suffered severe injuries but also put other drivers and pedestrians at risk.
The area where the collision occurred was closed off for several hours as investigators worked to gather evidence and clear up debris from the scene. SPD urges all drivers to practice caution and follow traffic laws for their own safety as well as that of others on the road.
