Mayor Nadine Woodward directed flags to be lowered to half-staff on Monday in honor of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and join the country in paying their respects on this Memorial Day.

Flags should remain lowered until noon on Monday or until Tuesday.

"We pay tribute and say a heartfelt thank you to the men, women, and families who placed country ahead of self, and to the service members who brought them home to their final resting places," Woodward said.
