~ Spokane, WA- In honor of the passing of country music legend and philanthropist Dolly Parton, Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff. This directive coincides with Governor Bob Ferguson's order for state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities to also be lowered.
Parton, known for her iconic songs such as "Jolene," "9 to 5," and "I Will Always Love You," was not only a talented musician but also a dedicated philanthropist. She created the Imagination Library program, which has gifted over 300 million books to children. Parton was also an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and public health.
