Revolutionary. Now network engineers can easily and cost-effectively connect mission-critical legacy serial devices to Ethernet/IP networks using industry-standard SFP connectors.

Ideal for applications in industrial automation, transportation, energy management, and more, the CIT-SFP ensures essential serial devices can communicate effectively within IP-based communication environments.

"This little serial device server is a meaningful advancement in bridging legacy serial technologies with contemporary IP networks," said Gary Portellas, Connectivity Product Manager at Patton.

Useful across diverse industries, the CIT-SFP is a compact, hot-swappable, device that offers unparalleled flexibility and efficiency.

Converting serial data into Internet Protocol (IP) packets, Patton enables data collection from serial devices over Ethernet/IP combined with remote monitoring and control.

Compact. The small, industry 4.0 device encapsulates asynchronous serial data into IP packets for transport through the network via UDP or TCP. The SFP module can be plugged into any Ethernet device with SFP ports that support 100BASE-FX or 1000BASE-X.

Compatible. The unit can function as a com-port extender and works with third-party com-ports, com-servers, and com-server applications.

Durable. Packaged in a rugged metallic enclosure, the CIT-SFP supports operating temperatures from -40°C to +85°C and includes an embedded temperature sensor.
