MG Facility Services, a Makwa Global company, will provide Multi-Phased Infrastructure Upgrades at the U.S. EPA's Mid-Continent Ecology Division in Duluth, Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS - Washingtoner -- MG Facility Services LLC, a SBA 8(a) certified Tribal Enterprise, announced today that it has been awarded the Multi-Phased Infrastructure Upgrades Contract for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Mid-Continent Ecology Division in Duluth, Minnesota beginning October 1, 2021 with a total contract value of $30 million.

Under this Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract, MG Facility Services will be providing construction and upgrades to the laboratory for the Mid-Continent Ecology Division.   The EPA Mid-Continent Ecology Division's existing main laboratory building is a 93,484 square foot, two story building that was originally constructed in 1967 with a lab addition constructed in 1982, and an administrative addition in 2001.

"We are proud to have been selected by the EPA to provide these essential upgrades to their Laboratory that have been many years in the making." said CEO Derek Dorr.  "By leveraging local partners we are able to provide the EPA with a customized solution utilizing all local resources."

Derek Dorr, a member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and former owner of Minnesota-based DECO, Inc., a 20-year seasoned government contractor, said, "Along with a very accomplished and experienced team, we have created a family of companies that specialize in federal government contracting.  The Makwa team has been fortunate, during this COVID challenge, to secure multiple contracts in all five of our federal subsidiaries with MG Facility Services, our construction subsidiary, now having sizable contracts on three continents."
