KIRKLAND, Wash., May 23, 2025 ~ Kirkland, WA- On June 7, from 1-3PM, the Flatbike bike shop in Kirkland will be hosting an afternoon of fun and games for cyclists and families in the Seattle and Eastside area. Located in the quiet corner of Totem Lake, this event promises to be a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

The main highlight of the event will be bike-related contests for those who bring their own bikes. Participants will have the chance to showcase their skills and win exciting prizes. But that's not all, as Flatbike will also be offering opportunities for attendees to discover the convenience of biking with their innovative products.

One such product is the "Flatten Your Bike Kit" which allows users to fit their existing bikes in just 1/3 of the space with a couple of space-saving add-ons. This kit has been a game-changer for many cyclists who struggle with storage issues. Additionally, Flatbike has recently introduced a patented quick-removable pedal system that has won international design awards for its ease of use and reliability.

But that's not all that Flatbike has to offer. Since its establishment in 2016, this small shop in Kirkland has been on a mission to make bikes more convenient through two focus areas: folding stems and removable pedals, and full-size folding bikes. The latter includes gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and adventure bikes that are designed and assembled by Flatbike themselves. These bikes are not only convenient but also ride like everyday bikes in their class.

Founder Bob Forgrave is determined to make biking more accessible and convenient for everyone. However, recent tariffs have made it challenging for Flatbike to continue importing components from China or assembling frames from Taiwan with Shimano components. As a result, they have had to wind down their US bike-assembly side of the business.

Despite this setback, Forgrave remains optimistic about the future of Flatbike. "We can have ourselves a little pity party about part of the business shutting down, or go big and have a pivot party to share deals and celebrate what we're ramping up," he says. With only 20 bikes and frames left in their inventory, Flatbike is inviting the local community to join them for games, prizes, snacks, and one-time deals on their unique and convenient bikes.

The event will also feature door prizes every half-hour and various fun activities for attendees who bring their own bikes. These include a slow-riding contest, mini-slalom contest, mini-sprint contest, and more. Interested individuals are encouraged to follow Flatbike on Instagram at @flatbike for updates.

In addition to this event, Flatbike will also have a booth at Medina Park as a sponsor of the 7 Hills of Kirkland bike ride on Memorial Day. Flatbike is located at 11626 Slater Ave NE, Suite #9 in Kirkland, behind NAPA Auto Parts. For more information about this event or Flatbike's products, interested individuals can contact president Bob Forgrave at 425-985-6219.

With its innovative solutions and determination to make biking more convenient for all, Flatbike is on a mission to change the way people think about cycling. Don't miss out on this opportunity to join them in their efforts and enjoy an afternoon of fun and prizes!
