New planning and alert features help travelers avoid overstays during Europe's first summer under the EU's fully operational Entry/Exit System.
LONDON - Washingtoner -- Europe's summer travel season is arriving at a uniquely high-stakes moment. On 10 April 2026, the EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) went fully operational across all 29 Schengen Area countries, replacing passport stamps with biometric border tracking that automatically records every non-EU national's entry and exit. Overstays are now detected instantly and stored digitally for up to five years.
For millions of remote workers, and frequent travellers navigating Europe's 90/180-day rule, the risk of miscalculating Schengen days has never been higher. A single overstay can now trigger fines, future border scrutiny, or multi-year entry bans.
To address this, Flamingo Compliance, the professional-grade tax residency and visa tracking app for globally mobile individuals, has launched a major expansion of its Schengen Area tracking tools focused on trip planning and overstay prevention.

The app has tracked Schengen Area days since launch, giving users a live view of their rolling 90/180-day balance. The new release introduces forward-planning tools that help travellers understand whether a future trip will remain compliant before booking flights or accommodation.
Users can model different travel scenarios by adjusting planned entry and exit dates and instantly seeing how those changes affect their remaining Schengen days. The tools also answer two of the most common questions travellers face: "When can I re-enter the Schengen Area?" and "How long can I stay?"
"The 90/180-day rule is one of the most misunderstood travel regulations in the world — and with EES now enforcing it automatically, guesswork is no longer an option," said Eugene Zlotin, Founder of Flamingo Compliance. "We built these planning tools so travellers can answer 'Can I take this trip?' in seconds, not after a spreadsheet and a panic."
The new Trip Planner calendar allows users to simulate future trips and immediately see the impact on their rolling Schengen balance. Additional calculators estimate the earliest legal re-entry date and calculate permitted stay duration for future trips.

While inside the Schengen Area, users also see a live exit deadline directly on their dashboard, alongside push alerts warning them as they approach the limit.
Flamingo Compliance was built for internationally mobile individuals, including expats, HNWIs, and global mobility professionals. The platform automatically tracks travel timelines, residency thresholds, visa rules, and physical presence requirements across jurisdictions.
With EES now live and this summer marking the first large-scale test of automated overstay enforcement across Europe, tools that make the 90/180-day rule understandable and plannable are becoming essential for travellers.
The new Schengen planning tools are available now in the latest version of Flamingo Compliance for iOS.
