~ The City of Spokane has taken a step towards promoting inclusivity and protecting the rights of its immigrant and refugee communities by launching a new webpage. This initiative was announced by Erin Hut, the Communications Director for the city.
The "Know Your Rights" webpage aims to provide crucial information about the constitutional rights and protections that apply to all individuals in the United States, regardless of their immigration status. It also offers red cards in almost 20 languages, which outline how people can exercise these rights.
In addition to this, the webpage also features a range of community resources, partner agencies, and information on how to access legal assistance. Mayor Lisa Brown expressed her support for this effort, stating that the diversity of people in Spokane makes the city stronger. She believes that this new website will ensure that everyone has access to the necessary support to feel safe.
