~ Spokane, WA - The City of Spokane is gearing up to celebrate National Volunteer Month with the return of Spokane Gives, a city-wide campaign that will run throughout the month of April. This initiative, spearheaded by Communications Director Erin Hut, aims to encourage residents to give back to their community by volunteering their time, talents, and resources in support of local non-profit organizations.
Since its inception in 2014, Spokane Gives has successfully engaged over 100,000 volunteers and connected them with various service projects and volunteer opportunities across the region. This year, the City of Spokane has partnered with LaunchNW to utilize the VolunteerSpokane.org platform, making it easier than ever for community members to find and sign up for projects. With a wide range of opportunities available, Spokane Gives is designed to cater to different schedules, abilities, and interests.
Not only will community members be actively participating in this campaign, but City employees will also be joining in on the action throughout April. They will be taking part in park and river cleanups, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore, supporting Feed Spokane, and partnering with Spokane Arts.

The City of Spokane is also excited to announce the return of the Mayor's Day of Recognition for National Service on Friday, April 10. In collaboration with NEWESD 101, AmeriCorps, and Habitat for Humanity, around 40 volunteers will be painting and landscaping at a new Habitat home in the Bemiss neighborhood.
Mayor Lisa Brown expressed her enthusiasm for this year's Spokane Gives campaign stating that "Volunteerism is a clear expression of who we are as a city: people showing up for one another and being a part of something bigger than themselves." She also added that "Our hope is that people across Spokane will join us in giving back to the organizations they care about most."
With such strong community support and involvement from both residents and City employees alike, it is clear that Spokane Gives will continue to make a positive impact on the local community and its non-profit organizations. The City of Spokane is proud to bring this initiative back on a larger scale and looks forward to seeing the impact it will have on the city.
