ABERDEEN, Wash. - Washingtoner -- The Aberdeen Art Center Presents: "The Art of Resistance"
Opening Reception: Sunday, June 29th | 1:00–4:00 p.m.

The Aberdeen Art Center invites art lovers, activists, and all concerned Americans to the opening of an urgent and powerful new exhibit: "The Art of Resistance." Curated by Laveta Bowen and Marguerite Garth, this show is a response to the escalating threats against democracy, both at home and abroad.

In a time marked by growing inequality, environmental degradation, and the rise of authoritarianism, art remains a vital tool for truth-telling and collective action. This exhibit brings together artists whose work confronts critical issues including:
  • Environmental justice
  • Women's and LGBTQ+ rights
  • Freedom of speech
  • Defense of the Constitution
  • The human impact of immigration policies
  • Global solidarity and allyship

Join us for this timely and thought-provoking event. Experience how creativity can fuel resistance—and how art continues to inspire hope, courage, and change. Refreshments will be served. Visit http://www.margueritegath.com for details.
