The Spokane Flag Commission is excited to announce that voting will open for the final binding vote on the new Spokane Flag on Monday, April 5th!

The Spokane Flag Commission has selected 12 finalists from over 400 initial submissions and 100 semifinalists selected by the public in December 2020. We believe these designs reflect a wide variety of styles and inspirations, and we hope that one of them will soon be hailed as a symbol of our community!

Voting will be open to all City of Spokane and Spokane County residents with a Spokane Public Library card, as well as all enrolled Spokane Tribe members regardless of location of residence.

If you do not have a library card, you can get one for free by signing up at https://www.spokanelibrary.org/signup/

To vote, go to your Spokane Public Library account dashboard at https://www.spokanelibrary.org/account and select the new option for the Spokane Flag vote. Voting will be conducted via Ranked Choice voting; you can rank the designs in your order of preference rather than being forced to pick just a single design.

About Spokane Flag Commission: The City of Spokane has had several flag designs throughout the years and adopted different designs as the official city flag in 1912, 1958, and 1977. Lloyd L. Carlson, who also designed the famous "Mobius strip" symbol for the World's Fair held in Spokane, Expo '74, designed the current city flag. The City of Spokane intends to update its flag to provide a symbol of which all people in Spokane can be proud and which represents the city we love.
