Tacoma: District 2 Council Member Sarah Rumbaugh Begins Second Term

~ On January 6, 2026, District 2 Council Member Sarah Rumbaugh was officially sworn in for her second term with the Tacoma City Council. This comes after being elected in November 2021 and re-elected in 2025.

Council Member Rumbaugh has a clear vision for Tacoma, one that focuses on creating a more vibrant city that supports business growth and the creation of living wage jobs. She is also dedicated to helping community members in need. As Chair of the Community Vitality and Safety Committee and a member of the Government Performance and Finance Committee, she is well-equipped to tackle these issues.

During her second term, Council Member Rumbaugh's priorities include preserving funding for domestic violence and sexual assault programs, updating the Rental Housing Code through her role as Chair of the Community Vitality and Safety Committee, promoting tree coverage across Tacoma, supporting economic vitality in Downtown Tacoma and other business districts, improving access to food for children in Tacoma, and addressing affordable housing and homelessness at a regional level.
