~ The City of Tacoma is offering two opportunities for community members to meet Interim Police Chief Patti Jackson in January. The events, one in-person and one virtual, aim to provide a platform for Chief Jackson to present her leadership vision and goals for the Tacoma Police Department.
Chief Jackson is currently being considered for a permanent appointment as Police Chief and these events will serve as a chance for community members to get to know her and provide feedback. The first event will take place on January 12 from 4-5 p.m. at the Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers on the first floor. This event will also be live-streamed on tacoma.gov, YouTube, and TV Tacoma.

For those unable to attend in person, a virtual event will be held on January 15 from 12-1 p.m. Community members can join by clicking here or by dialing (253) 215-8782 with the meeting ID of 983 1411 4731 and passcode of 545949.
Both events will be moderated and community members are encouraged to submit questions in advance via email at HRAdminTeam@tacoma.gov by January 9 at 10 a.m. At the end of each event, attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback through a survey which will be shared with Interim City Manager Hyun Kim for consideration during the appointment process.
Attendance at either event is required in order to participate in the survey. The City of Tacoma hopes these events will foster open communication between Chief Jackson and the community as she continues her journey towards becoming the permanent Police Chief.
