~ On Saturday, March 25, the City of Tacoma's Historic Preservation Office is hosting a free public history event at Cheney Stadium. The event, "Fields of Memories: Celebrating Tacoma's Baseball History" will run from 1-5 p.m. and is being held in partnership with the Tacoma Pierce County Sports Museum, the Tacoma Rainiers, the City of Tacoma Historic Preservation program, and the Ben B. Cheney Foundation.
The event will feature a 30-minute video documentary on Tacoma's baseball history, panel interviews and autograph signings with some of Tacoma's most illustrious professional baseball personalities and a selection of Tacoma baseball memorabilia on display courtesy of Marc Blau and the Tacoma Pierce County Sports Museum.

The schedule for the day includes a welcome at 1 p.m., followed by viewings of memorabilia from 1-5 p.m., a video presentation from 1:05-1:35 p.m., interviews with Mike Curto from 1:35-2:30 p.m., player autographs from 1:30-2:30 p.m., a break from 2:30-3 p.m., more interviews with Mike Curto from 3-3:45 p.m., more player autographs from 3-4 p.m., and all players signing autographs from 3:45-4:15 p.m..
