SeattleFWC26 is a not-for-profit organization with a vision to create a lasting legacy for the region through soccer, innovation, and inclusion. As one of the 16 host cities chosen for the FIFA World Cup 26™, this is a historic moment for Tacoma and Pierce County.
Mayor Woodards expressed her excitement about this opportunity, stating that it is a testament to their readiness to provide safe and welcoming spaces for hosting world-class events. She also looks forward to showcasing their vibrant community on a global stage and celebrating soccer in a unique way that only Tacoma and Pierce County can offer. The SeattleFWC26 Fan Zone will feature various activities such as live match screenings on giant screens in designated public areas, cultural exhibitions showcasing local arts scene performances, interactive soccer clinics for youth and adults, and food festivals highlighting local cuisine along with markets featuring local artisans and businesses.
