~ Tacoma and Pierce County have been selected as the official SeattleFWC26 Fan Zone, announced by Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards and Pierce County Executive Ryan Mello. This decision was made by SeattleFWC26, the local organizing committee for Seattle's participation in the FIFA World Cup 26™.

SeattleFWC26 is a not-for-profit organization with a vision to create a lasting legacy for the region through soccer, innovation, and inclusion. As one of the 16 host cities chosen for the FIFA World Cup 26™, this is a historic moment for Tacoma and Pierce County.

Mayor Woodards expressed her excitement about this opportunity, stating that it is a testament to their readiness to provide safe and welcoming spaces for hosting world-class events. She also looks forward to showcasing their vibrant community on a global stage and celebrating soccer in a unique way that only Tacoma and Pierce County can offer. Pierce County Executive Mello also shared his enthusiasm for welcoming the world to the South Sound. He believes that hosting a SeattleFWC26 Fan Zone will allow residents and visitors alike to share in the excitement of Puget Sound hosting such an international event.

The SeattleFWC26 Fan Zone will feature various activities such as live match screenings on giant screens in designated public areas, cultural exhibitions showcasing local arts scene performances, interactive soccer clinics for youth and adults, and food festivals highlighting local cuisine along with markets featuring local artisans and businesses.

The City of Tacoma and Pierce County will be sharing more details about these events in the coming months. They also plan on involving local residents in the planning process to ensure an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
