"Veteran and Single Father Theodis Daniel Responds to Smear Tactics with Truth, Faith, and Facts"

HOUSTON - Washingtoner -- Recent online messages and emails have circulated misleading and outdated claims about Theodis Daniel's past. We believe voters deserve verified facts:
  • All 2015 allegations of family-violence were dismissed by the Bexar County District Attorney on May 5 2016 for insufficient evidence.
  • A 2011 misdemeanor case concluded with deferred-adjudication probation—no conviction—and was closed more than a decade ago.
  • No current criminal cases, warrants, or firearm violations exist in any Texas court record associated with Mr. Daniel.
  • Several child-support filings made through the Attorney General's Office between 2016 and 2018 were either dismissed or resolved, with no active lien or enforcement order on file as of 2025.
Mr. Daniel has always been a law-abiding citizen, as demonstrated by the full dismissal of every past case brought against him. Like thousands of dedicated fathers across America, he faced a long and difficult custody process, one that ultimately resulted in him gaining full custody of his three sons.

Unfortunately, false allegations and misleading reports are all too common in family court matters, but the truth has prevailed in Mr. Daniel's case. Mr. Daniel is a veteran, and a single father raising three sons—one of whom is courageously battling terminal cancer.

Attempts to weaponize long-closed matters from years ago mislead the public and distract from the real issues facing Texans in TX-18: economic opportunity, safer communities, and better support for veterans and families.

Mr. Daniel stands by his record of service and transparency and welcomes any voter to review the same public records cited here.
