Medical call leads to SPD's Major Crimes Unit investigating a possible murder-suicide

On January 20, 2023 at 11:45 am, officers were dispatched to a residence in the area near Hwy. 195 and E. Meadow Lane, after medics discovered an elderly couple deceased.  Officers arrived on scene and called out SPD's Major Crimes Unit (MCU).  Detective's initial investigation determined the couple died from a possible murder-suicide.

This is an active investigation and more information will be released at a later date.  The identity of the deceased persons and the cause and manner of death will be released by the medical examiner.
