~ Spokane, WA- A tragic collision occurred this morning at the intersection of 4th and Lincoln on Spokane's South Hill. According to reports from Spokane Police, the incident took place just before 6:30 am on July 2nd, 2024.
The victim, a woman riding a scooter northbound down the hill on Lincoln, collided with a vehicle driven by an eastbound driver who had stopped at the stop sign. Despite efforts from citizens in the area who performed CPR until EMS arrived, the woman ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

Julie Humphreys, Public Safety Communication Manager for Spokane, confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was not impaired. However, Major Crimes Investigators from SPD were called to the scene and are currently investigating the collision.
The identity of the deceased will be released at a later date by the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office. This tragic incident serves as a reminder for drivers and riders to always exercise caution on the roads.
