~ At approximately 2:40am on January 25th, 2025, the Spokane Police Department (SPD) received a report of a shooting in the area of 2800 East Heroy Avenue. According to Officer Daniel Strassenberg of the SPD Public Information Office, 911 was informed that one person had been shot at the location.
Upon arrival, officers found a young teenager with gunshot wounds. The victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital but unfortunately, succumbed to their injuries despite medical efforts.

The SPD Major Crimes Unit (MCU) has been called in to investigate the incident and as of now, no arrests have been made. The name of the deceased will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office at a later time.
