SPOKANE ~ Spokane's Grant Park will soon have a new addition that will bring joy to soccer enthusiasts of all ages. On Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 2 p.m., Hope Soccer will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for their newly constructed mini-pitch in partnership with the City of Spokane Parks and Recreation.
The event, open to the public, will feature various activities such as youth games, refreshments, and family-friendly activities. The highlight of the event will be the official opening of the soccer mini-pitch, which is a small enclosed field designed for fast-paced and small-sided games. This mini-pitch aims to provide a safe and accessible space for children and families to play, learn, and grow.
The mini-pitch was built on one of the underutilized tennis courts at Grant Park. The second tennis court is currently undergoing surface repairs and is expected to reopen for tennis in the spring. The construction of the mini-pitch and its lighting system were made possible through funding from Hope Soccer, with sponsorships from ICCU and Musco Lighting.
