Spokane: Camp Hope to Close on or Before June 30

~ Today, the City and State of Spokane filed a plan with a Superior Court judge to close the encampment on Washington State Department of Transportation property near Second and Freya on or before June 30. Representatives from both parties have been meeting regularly over the past few months to discuss closing Camp Hope in a safe and humane way.

The plan includes finding improved housing for the remaining individuals at the site before June 30, followed by cleanup and remediation of the State-owned property. Communications Director Brian Coddington stated that both parties are committed to this important work.
