On January 21, 2023, at 4:39 AM, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) was dispatched to the 6600 Block of North Victor Street to a 911 call reporting a garage on fire. Firefighters arrived within four minutes to find a working fire in the connected garage of a single-story residential structure.

Firefighters quickly went to work to gain access to the garage and stretch hose lines to attack the fire and prevent extension into the home's living spaces. Other fire crews worked to conduct searches of the structure. At the same time, additional firefighters ventilated the attic space to remove dangerous products of combustion and make the environment safer for possible civilians and firefighters. The fire was quickly knocked down within ten minutes, and firefighters were able to confine the fire to the general area of origin. All occupants were able to evacuate the structure before fire crews arrived.
