SPD investigating fatal hit & run collision in Downtown Spokane

~ At approximately 12:49pm on June 11th, 2024, the Spokane Police Department received a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in Downtown Spokane. Officer Daniel Strassenberg, the Public Information Officer, confirmed that the incident occurred at the intersection of Browne and Main.

According to the 911 call, a female was found lying unconscious in the roadway. Officers arrived at the scene within two minutes and were joined by medics shortly after. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Despite their efforts, she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

The Major Crimes Unit (MCU) also responded to assist with the investigation. As of now, the vehicle involved in the collision has not been located. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
