Green Tacoma Day to Take Place at 13 Different Sites Across Tacoma on October 12

~ Tacoma, Wash. - As the city of Tacoma gears up for its annual Green Tacoma Day, volunteers are being encouraged to attend a lead-up event on September 26 at Wright Park. The event, organized by the Green Tacoma Partnership, will include a tree tour of the park and provide details on how to get involved in the upcoming Green Tacoma Day on October 12.

The City of Tacoma and the Green Tacoma Partnership will be providing tools, gloves, and training for volunteers at no cost. Everyone is welcome to participate and no prior experience is necessary.

This year's Green Tacoma Day will take place at 13 different sites across the city, including qʷiqʷəlut, China Lake, McKinley Overlook, Spanaway Park, Lincoln Heights Park, Adrianna Hess Wetland Park, Clover Park Technical College Flett Outdoor Lab, Browns Point Playfield, 56th and Park Avenue, University of Washington Tacoma Microforest Site, Fabulich Center at the Port of Tacoma, Wright Park, and Swan Creek.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to plant trees and native species, remove weeds and litter while connecting with others who share a passion for enhancing local green spaces. In addition to these activities, there will also be tree giveaways and tours of the Timber Exhibit at the University of Washington Tacoma's Milgard Hall.

With so many sites to choose from and a variety of activities available for all ages and skill levels, Green Tacoma Day is sure to be a fun and rewarding experience for all involved.
