~ Tacoma, Wash. - The City of Tacoma has announced that it will be observing Independence Day on Thursday, July 4. In light of this, all administrative offices will be closed for the day. This includes the Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center located at 3510 S. Mullen St., which will also be closed on July 4. As a result, there will be no garbage, recycling, or food/yard waste pickups on that day. Residents are advised that all curbside collection pickups throughout the week will occur one day later than usual, with Friday pickups taking place on Saturday.

While emergency response services will continue to operate as usual, there will be no parking enforcement by City staff on July 4. Additionally, all Tacoma Public Library locations will also be closed for the holiday.
