LOS ANGELES, July 15, 2025 ~ Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions, has announced the addition of Greg Spotts to their Mobility leadership team. This strategic move aims to expand the company's presence and impact in the Seattle area and California.
Spotts brings a wealth of experience to his new role as West Coast Client Support Leader. He has previously served as the Director of the Seattle Department of Transportation and as Assistant Director and Chief Sustainability Officer at the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services.
During his time as director of the Seattle Department of Transportation, Spotts oversaw a major capital program funded by a $930 million Levy to Move Seattle. Under his leadership, the department successfully completed over 180 streetscape improvement projects by streamlining design processes, implementing performance management strategies, and enhancing community outreach efforts. Notable achievements include the construction of two Rapid Ride bus lines, six protected bike lanes, and seismic retrofits on ten bridges. Spotts also prioritized bike and pedestrian safety by appointing the agency's first Chief Safety Officer and implementing initiatives such as a No Turn on Red zone in downtown Seattle and a Better Bike Barriers program in South Seattle.

In his role at the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services, Spotts led projects to optimize pothole turnaround time, launched the city's first bike lane maintenance program, and initiated an online inventory of all 650,000 street trees in Los Angeles.
With over sixteen years of experience in municipal government leadership positions, Spotts is known for his innovative approaches to design and delivery.
